32767 view(s) On November, at their Gaydon facility, Aston Martin’ unveiled the 6.0-litre V12 DBR9. The DBR9 was styled by Aston Martin Racing’s own design team, which extensive use of Computational Fluid Dynamics to optimise the aerodynamics.
In the cockpit, a carbon composite dashboard, lightweight racing seat and instrument panels help the car to meet its 1,100kg minimum, giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 550bhp per tonne.
To lead the marque’s return to international motorsport, a new division called Aston Martin Racing has been created in partnership with Prodrive, the world’s leading motorsport and automotive technology specialist. Prodrive, based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, is responsble for Aston Martin Racing’s global operations and plays a pivotal role in the plans to see a competitive Aston Martin programme return to the world sports car championships.
