2000: Team Cadillac #02
20021 view(s)
In 1999 Caddilac announced its 3 year campaing to win the Le Mans 24 hrs.In their 50 years of absence, a lot had changed in le Sathre, following common sence the US gaint teamed up with two renowned names in Modern Endurance racing: Riley & Scott and Dams racing.
A well proven formula as followed by many other manufacturers looking for LM "laurels", but some how Caddilac's dream team never managed to deliver the goods, not at least because of Caddy's own underpowered Northstar V8!

After a dissapointing first season Bill Riley was ditched for Design Supremo Nigel Stroud. Focussing most of his attention ton a new design for 2002, Cadillac returned to Le Sathre with only a slightly modified car.

After yet an other chaotic 24 hrs the Caddy's improved their results to 15th overall. The "new" Caddilac was raced 2002 (in what was originally planned to be the victorious third year) with on and on display of form, but never was it able to challenge the competition on its own account.
Rumour has it that the US giant will pull the plug for 2003.
