5th and 6th race in the BMW M1 Procar Challenge
Hello everyone,
Since more and more people from across the border are following our championship, I will do this in English from now on.
Sunday the 13th of April is the day on which the 5th and 6th race are being held
We are going to talk tonight about the new ballast weight for the toprunners, mostly aimed at taking a tenth of a second of especially me and Erwin
Boerse, who seem to have slight advantage in experience over the others. the new rule should produce even more exciting races from first to last
position!

Does it get any better?
Great presentation guys! Great facility and series! And what great inspiration for all of us! I am crossing the Atlantic to race three times this
year . . . and a chance to pull the trigger in this Procar series would be worth another trip if you can make space for me on the line. I would
greatly appreciate if someone could send me the link to this slide show . . . to help my promotional efforts in America . . . credits and cudos will
be posted for sure. Congrats again Nick on the cars.

Sunday the 13th was a lot of fun, continuing to prove the success of the simple, but very fun way of slotracing. Not much has changed since the first
day we raced these bulletproof and equal cars.
Having a few regulars of the Procar class occupied in 1/1 racing, where they fill in different spots in the teams, meant that this time we had 18
racers at the start of the event, and they got a nice surprise when they were getting ready to qualify. The surprise was: Qualify on the slow lane 1!
With practice already over, nobody had extra time to practice on lane 1.
The qualify results were:
1. Nick de Wachter 7.450
2. Tamar Nelwan 7.500
3. Gabriel Inabnit 7.551
4. Erwin Boerse 7.551
5. Willem Kloppenburg 7.591
6. Dirk-Jan de Vos 7.631
7. Ronald Zaal 7.650
8. Bert Fahner 7.691
9. Marcel Oosterling 7.731
10. Ton Jakobs 7.751
11. Peter Reijerkerk 7.762
12. Henk Smienk 7.821
13. Henri van Gool 7.821
14. David de Vos 7.951
15. Jurgen Nusser 7.971
16. Emily 8.021
17. Appie Lohman 8.221
18. Sharon Tjon 8.353
In the Procar class the fastest from qualifying starts on the slowest lane, lane 1. This will normally mean he/she looses 2 or 3 laps in the opening
stint on the racer starting on lane 6. In theory the quicker racer will get his laps back, but he has to stay cool. Every race results in a stunning
catching-up race, where differences at the finish are often less then 10 centimeter.
After 4 stints, I had my laps back and I thought I had it in the bag. Gabriel was standing next to me, racing Tamar for position 3 in the heat. I was
given Gabriel laptimes etc, while I slowed down about a second a lap. Then I said to Gabe: “You’re safe with this pace, and Erwin is a lap ahead
of you on the quickest lane 6, so forget him”. Then my eyes went up a place on the leaderboard, where I topped the list…… in the same lap as
Erwin! He was only half a lap behind me and gained 3/4 tenths a lap! I pushed like crazy on my lane 2 to the dying moments…… and came short……
5 centimeter! Great fun!
Results race 5:
1. Erwin Boerse 148,31 laps
2. Nick de Wachter 148,31
3. Gabriel Inabnit 146,49
4. Tamar Nelwan 146,15
5. Willem Kloppenburg 145,87
6. David de Vos 144,31
7. Peter Reijerkerk 143,96
8. Dirk-Jan de Vos 143,54
9. Ton Jacobs 143,40
10. Marcel Oosterling 142,11
11. Bert Fahner 141,82
12. Ronald Zaal 141,79
13. Jurgen Nusser 139,54
14. Sharon Tjon 138,63
15. Henk Smienk 138,23
16. Emily 137,53
17. Appie Lohman 136,17
18. Henry van Gool 127,34
Race 6 saw hectic starts in all groups, and in this heat I was bumped off twice (by RFH!) and was the unlucky one running over a lost exhaust pipe and
deslotted again. Emily was the first unlucky person having her M1 fail on her, when the pignon came off. It was fixed quickly and the pignons will be
replaced on all cars as soon as possible.
This heat saw a strong performance by Gabe, winning overall and setting seriously fast times on the slower lanes, leaving Erwin just behind and me
unable to catch up enough in the time that I had left.
Results race 6:
1. Gabriel Inabnit 148,63
2. Erwin Boerse 148,52
3. Nick de Wachter 147,74
4. Willem Kloppenburg 145,77
5. Tamar Nelwan 145,63
6. Peter Reijerkerk 144,59
7. Bert Fahner 144,29
8. Dirk-Jan de Vos 144,20
9. Ton Jacobs 144,20
10. Jurgen Nusser 143,43
11. David de Vos 143,30
12. Ronald Zaal 142,81
13. Marcel Oosterling 142,53
14. Henry van Gool 140,63
15. Sharon Tjon 139,43
16. Henk Smienk 138,70
