IMCA Front Wheels Rule??
Hiya guys,
prepping the cars, we discovered a weird one. The Rules for the Nismos say:
6.5. WHEELS, AXLES & BEARINGS OF A NISMO CAR
(Front wheels are always at least 5 mm [0.315"] wide. Rear wheels are handout Scaleauto wheels 27,5mm ø 13 mm wide, 20mm Ø inside.
(c) TYRES - Front tyres must be black, min Ø is 27.0 mm.
the Standard SC 2702 P Fronts are only 25.5mm..
So, has everyone else put different sponge on their fronts, or are all our cars gonna be illegal by Unle Bob??
I have sent JP an email, I'll see what his response is..

Al,
as far as I see it, There is no mention that the fronts should be of a specific make... It only says they must be 5 mm wide, the original inserts from
the kit should fit into them, and the diameter of the completed wheel should be at least 27mm
Until now, I never bought complete front wheels with the sponge already on it, and I think very few people do so.
VBR and CU soon

No premade wheels here either, using Sigma SG8022P & SG8410 combination. Sponge tyre trued & cut down to the specified dimensions.

Hey Raymond,
the Scaleauto wheels, which are the suggested wheels to use, and which the handout rears come from, are out the packet at 25.5mm.. If that's what is
suggested to use, I'm not gonna go tear them up because the rulebook says 27mm.. Thats ridiculous.
Regards
Al

Hi Mike,
My Scaleauto's, which we even used last year, come out the packet at 25.5 mm... What I'm saying is, that's smaller than what the Rulebook says, but
the website says they are wheels which we can use..
I want to know if the 27mm rule is in fact a mistake..
regards
Al

Hey Al
Already had JP on the horn, but if I remember correctly your 25,5 wheels were an issue last year, only............
.... since there was no way you would be able to grow 1,7 mm overnight and no one had extra fronts with them,
the TC let it rest.
I'll bring an extra set of the hard sponge we use for the fronts and a tyre true'er, you bring rims and your inserts

Dude, I do remember, but it couldn't only have been me..
Anyway, no worries, I've just stripped, glued and trued 3 new pairs, as I need to cover all our cars, my responsibility.. So I'll be sorted..
27 mm it is then..
