NICKS SEXY KOREAN JAG......
Hi Nick,
can you post more info/details on your ride?
where were the problems? does a fatter butt really
guarantee a better faster ride?
Which chassis and tires etc did you use compared to the
competition? Didi you use the kits cockpit and a full driver?
Very interested as I have also started a similar skinny project.
Thanks
Fola

Just not me
Hello Fola
Nick's not really online this days, but I can give you some details about his Jag.
Nick's main motivation on making the "closed" XJR12 was to see if it could be done, and if yes...how much he would lose performance wise on running
such a narrow car.
You know to see if besides the good looks, she also had the goods to deliver.
Chassis was a relatively basic Plafit Exel (springsteel), Polyutherane tyres (in this case Wiesel)

Well, Fola,
I did the 88 Daytona 24 Hours winner, Hasegawa kit, with the closed wheel wells, mounted it on a M-Racing C1 chassis, incorporating a few tuneups, and
I went to winn the first race I entered with the car!!
Here in Denmark we use foam tires for most clases, also for this gr. C race. But otherwise it is close to the LMS Gr. C rules. OK, we do have free
chassis.
We have done a FIA GT race with Fox motors, and a LMP/GT race with Bison motors at our track in the last two months, at neither races the winner did
more than 258 laps, I did 268 laps with my narrow Jag!! All races was over 5 min. stints. So you can do it!!

Pål even beat me with my tricked out Lancia LC12 on a relatively basic Plafit Excel - by 3 laps, nonetheless :gun:
And I lost those 3 laps in the second stint
Best regards

that sounds good.
I will be using my own chassis based on the s24 by Plafit Decals -Silk cut, Body Hasegawa, Photo etch Scaleproduction.
Should look good- hope it runs well too! need to finsh a few other WIP's before i can get started.
Can you mail/post pics?
Rgds,
Fola

Pictures of my XJR9, far from a 100% perfect model, but one of my better efforts with my modest model building skills.
The rear wing got fu.... up with the decals, next time I will paint the green and red stripes!!
The interior is a Mathias Parke lexan Porsche 962 insert adapted for the Jag, and I even painted "Little John" with correct helmet and a Castrol
driver suite. Not 100% true but it looks good.
I´ll poste a few more pictures soon, when I get them uploaded to our own site.

Done deal!
runs pretty well too. With a little tweaking might be able to win a race or two!
kept the stock interior but could not find reference pics of "Lil' John" so I made
up the drivers livery. I originally did the belts in black and had to hand paint them
after the buckles were mounted.....
I messed up the rear spoiler decals too... should have read the postings better!
Does size really matter??????
