On this page you will find the General Technical rules. They form the foundations upon which the SSP writes all technical regulations. You might say that these are the rules by which we make our regulations. The SSP General Technical rules will first tell you what we want all regulations to do, it describes the purpose for which the rules are written. Secondly it tells you who controls the rules and how they are structured.
During the slotrace events the technical rules are used by competitors and the scruteneers alike.
To keep the interpretation of the rules as clear as possible the general rules contain a set of definitions that will tell you exactly what we mean if we use a specific term
Tamar Nelwan, Chairman LMS

ART.1REGULATIONS
1.1PurposeTo create and control the equality of the potential performance amongst the cars in the competition(s) during events.
1.2Regulation and Eligibility AmendmentsThese General Technical Rules are issued by the SSP for the use in 1/24 Modelcar Events. The SSP will publish changes made to these regulations as Additional Rules. Changes in circumstances deemed to be exceptional or for safety reasons may be made without prior notice by the SSP. All that is not provisioned by these regulations is to be decided under the authority of the SSP or its appointed Officials.
1.3 Supplement Regulations For each separate Class (Sportscars, Touringcars, F1 etc, etc) a Supplement Regulation can be published. These contain the additional rules and specification(s) under which they compete in the Championships.
1.4 Compliance With The RegulationsIt is the duty of each competitor to satisfy the Scrutineers that his car and controller complies with these regulations in their entirety at all times during an event. It is at all time the responsibility of the competitor to assure that he complies to the technical regulations.
ART.2 ELIGIBLE CHASSIS & PARTS/ HOMOLOGATION
Unless noted as "free" in the regulations, all eligible chassis and parts are listed in the homologation lists. The homologation list describes the eligible cars and or parts, and the specifications under which they are to be used in the competition. Homologation lists are valid from Jan. 1st of each calendar year, and can be updated on Aug. 1st.
2.1 ConstructionOnly the described form of construction is allowed.
2.2 Exclusion on grounds of constructionThe O.C. or its appointed officials may exclude any car, part or item, the construction or use of which is deemed to be dangerous, or hazardous for the competition or the competitors.
2.3 Modifications Change of part(s), material(s) and/ or shape of a described standard item is considered as a modification. Only listed modifications are allowed. If these are made they must be done according to the description and measurements as mentioned in the regulations.
ART.3 ELECTRIC CIRCUITS
Any increase of the lane voltage in reference to the power supply voltage is not allowed. Storage of the lane voltage to power or brake the motor is not allowed.
3.1For Lights. If Batteries, Capacitors and / or transistors are used the circuit must be: · A closed circuit separated from the track voltage. · Blocked from the track voltage by a 1 Amp diode placed in the + wire feeding the system. Diode must be placed in such a way that it can be easily controlled by the T.C.
3.2 Controller Any device operated by a driver regulating the electric power to control the speed of a slotcar is counted as a controller. All Controllers are subject to inspection by the T.C. to verify compliance with the rules. They must: · Only regulate the supplied power for use on a given track. · Not increase of the Lane voltage in reference to the power supply voltage.· Regulation of the supplied power must be operated manually by the driver, automated operation of the controller is not allowed.
ART.4 TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS/ SCRUTINEERING
Scrutineering verifies compliance of the described items with the Technical Regulations. Interpretation of these regulations is at the authority of the Technical Director. The controlling body during the events is the Technical Committee under the authority of the Technical Director. All technical inspection must be performed by the Technical Committee (T.C.) and / or its appointed officials.
4.1Measurements All measurements made during a event must be made with the same tools. Dimensions and ground clearance of a slotcar must be measured while the car is stationary with four wheels on a tech-block. Tech-block has to simulate track condition. For Ground clearance the minimum vertical distance between the part and the horizontal reference plane of the tech block is measured.
4.1.1Scrutenering Tolerance Unless specifically mentioned otherwise in the sporting rules, the notation of the decimal(s) of the value designates the tolerance. For example: noted value 1 mm = tolerance of 0,5 mm, noted value 1,0 mm = tolerance of 0,05 mm
4.2Procedures for a Technical InspectionProcedures for a Technical Inspection · One set of tools must be used for all technical inspections; the Technical Director must approve these tools.· The object(s) to be inspected must not be changed in form, size, state or construction unless absolutely necessary for verification of its compliance to the rules. For this reason the competitor needs to be present during Scrutineering. · The T.C can instruct the competitor to (Des) assemble any given part for an inspection if needed for a technical inspection.
· Results of the technical inspection(s) must be recorded on the Tech-Form and must be signed for agreement by the Competitor. · If a competitor disagrees with the results of a technical inspection, he can request the inspection to be repeated in attendance of a "Judge of facts". The results of this second inspection are binding.
