After being present on the podium for most of the Toronto week, Gabe Inäbnit finally broke his duck during the 2009 edition of the Pan American Plafit Championship, claiming top honours in the race with team mate Marcel Oosterling. Throughout the race they had been battling with the pole setting Norwegian team of Børge Haug and Glenn Wennerberg.

With the difference at halfway point not more then 30 lap segments, a quicker pitstop in het second heat for tyres (by Gabe known for his dislike of pitting under pressure) secured the lead RfH finishing just 1,5 laps ahead of the Mustang Sally's.
With a strong drive in the second heat ( 592.89 laps) the Dutch American team TNT is niiiice ( Nick de Wachter & Mike Stahl) managed to bump the Australian AUSforce (Jan Roestof & Simon Walkelin) from the last remaining place on the podium.
