Been there, done that, doing it again! For the "FIA/GT Spa Revisited" race in Alsdorf, Grand Master Kloppenburg has been busy giving the rules one of his famous "once over's". Check here for the latest version....and check the forum for the explanations on the rules...... and on how to read them (between the lines ;)
Art. 1.0 Ready To Run (RtR) Slot Car, Dimensions & Weights
1.1 RTR cars - Allowed are all RtR Cars comprising a commercially
available 1/24 Production Model Car Chassis' (art. 2, art.
3) and a 1/24 Scale body of a 1/1 Scale GT as raced in FIA-GT, and LMES
(period 2004 - 2007) (art. 4)
a maximum of 4 liveries per car can be entered for each event.

1.2 Dimensions - Dimensions of the RtR car must be 1/24 of
the 1/1 car (with a tolerance of 4%) as noted in the Cars
& Models pages
Dimensions are measured with the RTR car resting on 4 wheels on a flat surface
(Tec block) see fig 1
1.2.1 Width - The width of RtR car will be measured at 2 points, over the centerline of the front and rear wheels.
1.2.2 Height - The heigth of RtR car will be measured at 3 points, over the centerline of the front and rear wheels and at the highest point over the roof (air intake etc. not included)
1.2.3 Guide base - The guidebase of RtR car will be measured from the centerline rear axle to the front of the guide.
1.3 Weight - Minimum weights are assigned according to the Weight calculator. Based on the measurements of the RtR car each car is assigned a minimum Body weight (including body mounts) and a mimumum total weight. Assigned minimum weights are valid for the duration of the Race.
1.4 Ground Clearance - Chassis (art 2.1,2,3): Minimum 1.0 mm Body: Minimum 1 mm
note - For endurances it is advised to run the RtR car @ 1,2 mm ground clearance under the rear axle.
Art. 2.0 Chassis, Motor and Gearing
2.1 Make & Type - Choice of chassis parts manufacturer is free. Chassis parts must be from the same manufacturer. Chassis' must be angle/sidewinder type.
2.2. Construction - Assembly of the Chassis must be done via bolts and/or glue using the original holes provided in the Chassis Parts.
Positioning of the parts is free. Soldering is allowed for mounting Lead-Wires and pinion only.
2.2.1 Free Materials
- Assembly materials: nuts, bolts, spacers, springs, washers etc
- Ballast weights
- Guide & Guide-nut
- Braids & Lead wires
- Axle bearings
- Motor holder
2.3 Motor - Proslot Euro MK1. One sealed motor will be Handout
for the race. If this motor fails to operate at an acceptable rate, a second
marked motor can be purchased at cost price.
2.4 Gears - All commercially available M50 pinion and crown/spur
gears for ∅3 mm axles are allowed. Fixed gear ratio (9x44).
2.5 Modifications - Motor & Guide holder may be modified.
Art. 3.0 Axles, Rims and Tyres
3.1 Axles - Only steel ∅ 3 mm blank axles are allowed.
3.2 Rims - Must be aluminium min. ∅ 20,5 mm. Rims must have
3d inserts. Exception: milled model rims like
Sakatsu, Hiro, St 27 etc etc.
3.3 Front Wheels - Min. ∅ 25,5 mm measured on the highest point, Min width 8,0 mm, min. 5 mm of
the tyre width must have contact with the tec block. Tyre compound must be rubber. Front tyres can be coated to reduce roll resistance.
3.4 Rear Wheels - Scaleauto Procomp 3, ∅ 27,5 x 13 mm, inside
∅… 20 mm. 2 sets will be hand out for the race. No work on the rear tyres is allowed.
Min. ∅ 26,0 mm during and after the race.
Art. 4.0 Body
4.1 Scale & Exterior Detail - must be 1/24 of
the 1/1 car (with a tolerance of 4%) as noted in the Cars & Models pages
4.1.1 External detail parts - The following parts must be mounted if applicable:
- Front, rear & side windows
- Front splitter
- Rear wing
- Exhaust pipes
- minimum 1 side mirror and 1 windscreen wiper
4.1.2 Liveries - Only original liveries are allowed. A maximum of 3 different liveries per car can be entered for each event. Click

4.1.3 Interior Detail - 3 dimensional interior must contain:
- dashboard
- steering wheel
- seat and driver
- seperately molded helmet
In top view the interior should cover all technical parts of the chassis.
4.1.4 Lights - Must be located at their original scale position
and working at the start of the night section. Front lights: minimum two lights,
yellow/white color, bright beam. Rear lights: minimum two lights, red color,
diffuse light.
4.2 Construction - In top view a body must cover all parts
of the chassis and the tread of the tyres. Allowed Body materials are hard plastics,
resin, Carbon/GFK laminations. Lexan is allowed only for interior, detail and
clear parts.
4.3 Modifications - Body modifications to comply with Art 4.1
are allowed. Body mounts/holders modifiactions are allowed. Adding ballast
and/or removing weight inside the body to comply with Art 1.3 is allowed.
Art. 5.0 Repairs
All repairs must be done during normal race time.Exeption: When specifically allowed by the race control!
5.1 Lost Parts - The following parts must be re-mounted in their original position should they become separated from the car:
- Wheels, Insert(s)
- Rear Wing
- Front and Rear windows
- Lane sticker
5.2. Ground Clearance - Any part of the Chassis (art 2.0-2.3) and / or Body (art 4) that is in breach of art 1.4 must be repaired.
5.3 Lights - If during night sections more than 50% of the min. number of lights (art 4.1.4) fail to operate for more than a full lap, they must be repaired.
Art. 6.0 Penalties
6.1 Race Control Directions - Not complying with any direction of the race control may result in a penalty.
6.2 Breaching Articles - Breaching of any article of the Technical rules may result in a penalty.
6.3 Penalty size - Penalties always start with a Stop & Go of 15 seconds. 15 seconds will be added to any subsequent breach of the same type. (ie: 15 sec, 30 sec, 45 sec etc...)
6.3.1 Penalty size and type exceptions - The race control may vary the type and sizing of the penalty if the circumstances force the organisation to do so. Examples: Determination of breaching any articles of the technical rules after the race. Breaching of the sporting rules.
