Maybe it was because of "Skotties" double
function as Race director, that trough out the whole event, BS Power
kept a low profile.
The only Glitz and Glamour being the orange flake dress of their 962 Porsche. Fact was that the team ran a textbook example of a true Endurance strategy. Placed the right drivers on the right lanes and although never spectacular, grinded out lap after lap with low 9.10s. Instead of driving with "No Limits" the team nursed their car throughout the full 6 hrs. And had it not been for a broken gear in the opening laps could have won the race on pure merit. As it turned out, their "low profile" approach earned them the High profile as this years winner. Running the same "no stop" strategy as the Trier Jaguar, the "modest" driving style of the team made BS Power Porsche pass final T.C. with flying colours. With this deserved win the "ex amateur" racers finally step out of the shadow of "Werks" team. A modest mann he may be but Mr "Skottie" clearly has was it takes to follow the footsteps of Grand Master Parke. Under his guidance the Hamburg saga will continue to grow. |
