Danish Modelcar racing scene is flourishing. On Sunday March 28 the second round of the the 8 race Danish Nascar series was held at the Vanwall Slot
Car Club in Danmark. 19 Danes of Thunder started on the 20m Short track.

The second race of the 8 race series was run on sunday 28. march. arrived at the small Vanwall Slot Car Club venue in Danmark. The track is a true short track of around only 20 meters. So the race turned out to be quite as hectic as a normal Nascar race at one of the small ovals. The track is a routed wood track of four lanes, with quite a few tricky corners. Before the race Nascar testing had shown that times would be in the low 6 secs for a lap. This however proved to be way of the mark!!
The staring field looked like this..

The qualifying result ended like this.:

1 #24 Pål Hanson 6,218

2 #32 Kenny Winther 6,444

#23 and #1 was allowed into the race without qualifying, starting in the first heat. The race was run over two races of 3 min. per lane each. The end result beeing the two races added together.

The racing was very fierce and exciting from the go, however the leaders soon turned out to be #8, #48, #32, #31 and #24! However some very bad driving from #24 ended the race in a firm but very distant fourth position. The absolutely best performance of the race came from the #8 car and the #32 car wich during the final stint swaped fastets lap several times and went into the lead on and of all thru the race.
The best jump in performance was done by the #31 car and driver who managed to get into the top 5 from a lowly 12 place in the first race.

The result of the race was..

1 #8 Martin Borch 243 laps, fastest time 5,500

2 #48 Per Kristiansen 241,18 laps, fastest time 5,538

3 #32 Kenny Winther 241,08 laps and fastets time 5,541

4 #24 Pål Hanson 229 laps and fastets time 5,599

5 # 31 Lars Beneke 216 laps and fastets time 5,819

6 #18 Michael Sivertsen 213 laps and fastets time 5,929

7 # 29 John McLarsen 210 laps and fastets time 6,090

8 # 28 Rolf Næhr 209 laps and fastets time 5,980
